Pricing negotiation is normal at volume
Unlike small retail orders, bulk quantities are a genuine negotiation — be specific about total volume and delivery schedule upfront to get a realistic bulk rate rather than a retail price multiplied.
Lock in specification before the full order, not after
Confirm grade, finish and dimensions on a sample or small first batch before committing to the full bulk quantity — catching a spec mismatch on 5 pieces is inexpensive; catching it on 500 is not.
Delivery scheduling against your site timeline
Bulk orders tied to a construction schedule need phased delivery, not one large drop — ask how the supplier handles staged delivery against your site's actual progress.
Quality consistency across the batch
Ask specifically whether the full bulk quantity comes from a single production/import batch or multiple — mixed batches can have subtle finish or grade variation worth knowing about upfront.
Documentation
Bulk contractor orders should come with proper GST invoicing and, where relevant, mill certificates for the project record. See our pricing guide for how bulk quotes are actually built.
