What happens behind the scenes
Legitimately imported material moves through customs documentation, duty payment, and often quality/compliance certification depending on the material category — this is handled by the importer (your supplier), not something you as a buyer typically deal with directly.
Why this matters to you as a buyer
A supplier who genuinely imports (rather than just reselling from another trader) has direct visibility into their material's documentation and origin — one more reason a direct importer-fabricator can often speak more confidently to material provenance than a pure reseller several steps removed from the original import.
What's reasonable to ask
For bulk or commercial orders, asking whether material is directly imported or locally re-sourced is a fair question — a transparent supplier answers this plainly.
Our position
We handle end-to-end import — sourcing, documentation, logistics — directly, which is why we can speak specifically to what's in current stock rather than passing along secondhand information. See our import & sourcing page.
