Why steel for drainage
Drainage channels sit in near-constant water contact — concrete channels crack and stain over time, galvanized steel eventually rusts once the zinc coating wears through; stainless steel's corrosion resistance (see our corrosion guide) is built into the material itself, not a coating that degrades.
Common applications
Terrace and rooftop drainage (see our terrace guide), driveway and courtyard channel drains, and commercial kitchen floor drainage (see our kitchen guide) are the most common requests we get for this application.
Grade selection
304 grade is standard for most drainage applications; 316 is worth the upgrade for anything exposed to more aggressive water chemistry — pool deck drainage, for instance, following the same logic as our pool railing guide.
Custom sizing
Drainage runs are rarely a standard length — custom fabrication means the channel is built to your actual site dimensions rather than forcing a standard product to fit an irregular space.
