What it is
A jali panel is a perforated screen with a repeating decorative pattern — traditionally carved in stone or wood, now commonly laser-cut into stainless steel sheet for durability and precision that hand-carving can't match at scale.

Design considerations
Pattern density affects both privacy level and airflow — denser patterns block more view but also more light and breeze. Sheet thickness needs to suit the pattern's finest details; overly delicate cuts in thin sheet can be structurally fragile at panel edges.
Finish options
Mirror finish on jali makes the pattern read more dramatically in direct light; matte/hairline gives a calmer, more architectural look. PVD colour (bronze, black, gold) is popular for jali specifically since the pattern shows well against the metallic tone.
