Why imported material takes longer
Specialty finishes, PVD colours and certain premium sheet stock often come through import shipments rather than local stock — meaning availability depends on shipment schedules, not just fabrication time. This is different from locally stocked pipe/bar, which can usually move much faster.

- Confirm with your supplier upfront whether your material is in current local stock or needs to be sourced via import.
- For imported material, build in a longer lead time buffer than you would for standard local stock.
- If your project has a hard deadline, ask about locally available alternatives that could substitute without compromising the design intent.
